Leadership gathering for Software Europe
The managers of Omega 365’s European distribution software companies recently gathered at the headquarters in Ølensvåg, Norway, to discuss how best to prepare for future growth. Key priorities included increasing the focus on business development and strengthening collaboration between offices.

“We want to take a larger share of the European market,” says General Manager Svein Tore Haraldseid. “There are many opportunities we haven’t yet seized. A big part of our development involves connecting our European offices more closely with Norway and working more as one.”
In addition to regular digital meetings, the European leadership team meets in person four times a year. One of the meetings takes place in Norway, while the others rotate between the various offices.
“In the past, people worked more independently. Now we are aiming for a more unified and aligned approach. This helps us improve operations and identify new opportunities by tapping into our internal networks.”
The effort to strengthen focus on Europe has been ongoing for some time, but gained momentum after changes were made to the group board two years ago.
“The board was impressed by what we had achieved but encouraged us to think more holistically and globally. We are now approaching Europe as one integrated region.”
One important initiative is the establishment of a business development hub in Stavanger.
“Our European software offices are still relatively small, and our goal is to support their growth through collaboration with the Norwegian offices. The new Stavanger unit, together with our Copenhagen office, will play a leading role. Together, they will bring energy, direction, and practical solutions to the European organization as a whole.”
Several industries are seen as especially promising.
“Large-scale projects across sectors will continue to be our main focus, since this is where we have built our strength. But we also see interesting opportunities in healthcare. We have a comprehensive agreement covering management, operations, development, and maintenance with all four Norwegian regional health authorities. This gives us a strong foundation. It is still a relatively new area for us, but we see significant potential both in Norway and in other European countries.”
Renewable energy and infrastructure are also key areas going forward, Haraldseid adds.
There are no immediate plans to open new offices in Europe, but the possibility remains open.
“We have clients in several countries, so if we see a need for a permanent presence in certain locations, we will move forward with it. This is something we continuously evaluate,” says Haraldseid.
The three-day gathering included meetings and workshops, but the informal conversations were just as important.
“Bringing people together like this makes it easier to talk about shared challenges and client needs. We also have colleagues from business development with us, who are valuable resources. In the past, sales were part of the department managers’ responsibilities. Now that we are putting more emphasis on client acquisition, we have appointed dedicated business developers to handle that. Ståle Håheim at the Copenhagen office is leading the initiative, supported by Gunnar Hansen, who will focus particularly on the healthcare sector.”
In Stavanger, Simen Bjørkedal Jensen will lead the new department responsible for the European initiative, with a primary focus on tenders, demos, and project implementations.
In Norway, Omega 365 Solutions has built solid experience with large clients and complex projects—an asset Haraldseid believes will be key to future growth.
“We are in a unique position in Norway. We are involved in several mega-projects and have few Norwegian competitors. Simply put, we have both the scale and the expertise to run large projects across many sectors. That’s something we want to replicate in Europe.”
