Project Manager (based in Hong Kong)

Base location: Site-based (Natural Gas Construction Projects), Hong Kong, CLP Castle Peak Power PMO office

Role Overview

We seek a well-rounded and competent Project Manager to manage the project and ensure flawless execution for major natural gas projects in Hong Kong power stations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and task management skills, with experience in coordinating complex construction activities in a live plant environment to provide effective direction and coordination of the project activities and report on project performance and Management with respect to safety, quality, cost and schedule.

Requirements

• Qualifications / Education & Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline, Project Management, Construction Management, and/or MBA degree.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in EPCC Project execution in Oil and Gas or Power Industry.

  • Proven experience in Contracts Management, EPC Project Life Cycle Services Management (Risk, Planning, Document Control), Site Construction Management.

  • Processing / Construction background is advantageous.

• Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong contract acumen and history of executing facilities projects.

  • Technical Expertise in civil and processing works is advantageous.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate is advantageous

• Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Leadership and mentorship skills, and proof of resource management.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Mandarin and/or Cantonese speakers are preferred as we have Chinese clients and the projects are based in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the project in a safe, quality, efficient and timely manner in accordance with the client agreed contract and specifications.

• Executive project management of all pertinent activities during Project execution including; Design, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, QA QC, Logistic, Site Erection & Construction and Commissioning

• Define and implement Project Control System:

1. Create a project schedule, monitor and maintains for the duration of the project;

2. Identifies problem areas, evaluates and initiates corrective action;

3. Monitors and reschedules the project schedule with respect to quality, time, and cost.

• Overall responsible of project schedule control within the planned milestone dates.

• Overall responsible of the project cost control within agreed budget.

• Define and achieve overall project quality performance index.

• Overall project human resources planning and management. Lead and monitor the work throughput and maintain harmonious relations within the project organisation and related stakeholders.

• Capable of establishing good client relationships and maintaining those relationships through adversity.

• Comprehends contractual conditions and technical specifications to optimise cost-savings opportunities. Identifies and records changes to the project scope of supply and manage variation orders effectively with Client.

• Review and approve progress report

• Close communication with client and owner management for problem solving and support project performance.

• Ensure that company’s interests are protected and minimise contractual risk, while fulfilling Contract obligation.

• Supervise sub-contractors and ensure that works are carried on efficiently and timely manner.

• Maintains a good record of all communications related to the project.

• Reports to: Project Execution Functional Head / Local GM

Salary

• 50,000HKD/ month
