Arrival

It is important that you send your arrival and departure times to our contact person at La Joya, Sarah at Coast Cleaners, no later than one week before you travel to Spain. The code to the keybox will be received about 7 days before departure.

Different locks/Keys

NB! The key to the front door must always be turned all the way around to be properly locked. You should do this both day and night, whether you are in the apartment or not.

NB! The door to the terrace is also a snap lock, so be careful, there is no key on the outside.

An extra set of keys to the apartment and pool can be found in the hallway by the front door.

Key box outside main car-gate

NB: Read this section carefully.

A key box has been installed outside the main gate to La Joya, which exclusively belongs to the apartment in La Joya C-1B. The box is located to the left of the main gate, see photos:

In the keybox there are three keys on a key chain:

1. Main key to the apartment. To be kept in the apartment during your stay and to be put back on departure.

2. Key to the main gate / car gate.

3. Key to the door in the main gate.

All three keys are attached to a keychain and must not be removed from it.
The keys should be kept inside the apartment during your stay and placed back in the key box upon departure.
Please check that all three keys are inside the key box when you leave.

NB: If, for any reason, you are unable to place the keys inside the key box, please return to the apartment and leave the keys in the hallway. Simply close the front door behind you.
In such a case, it may be helpful to know that the small right-side door (when viewed from the inside) next to the stone wall can be opened by pressing a white switch on the same wall, a couple of meters inside the door.

If you have a car and experience issues with the electric car gate door due to a power outage or any other reason, the door can be opened manually by pulling out the handle inside the small box located in the middle of the car gate. The gate can then be slid open by hand.

For any issues, please notify Coast Cleaners (Sarah & Paul) immediately at (+34) 711 00 87 65.

The beach

A beautiful sandy beach is just a 3–4 minutes walk from the complex, best accessed via the gate between blocks C and D. Despite its proximity to the road, the beach remains quiet due to the elevation. It features a full-service restaurant and a lifeguard on duty. A cliff north of the beach blocks direct access to Fuengirola, but an underpass further north allows continued shoreline access. You can reach it by walking or taking the small train to its final stop.

Groceries and shopping centers

There are several shops and kiosks selling food nearby.

Between La Joya and Fuengirola, you’ll find the MiraMar shopping center, which offers a wide range of stores and restaurants. Walking there takes about 30 minutes, and you can follow a quieter residential route that avoids the busy main road—though the terrain has some gentle inclines and declines.

Additionally, just outside Marbella, the La Cañada shopping center is a popular destination for those looking to shop. If you don’t have a car, a bus service provides easy access to this area.

The nearest minimarket to La Joya is "Zac`s First Avenue" in the main Wyndham reception building just up the hill north-west of La Joya. This market is open all week from 08:00 to 20:00.

A new small "Supermarket" has opened in El Faro. This is open every day, all week from 09:00 to 22:00. Fresh bakery available every morning.

Restaurants

Just above La Joya there are two great restaurants serving both indoors and outdoors. The restaurants are surrounded by beautiful parks and there is live music every night. There are also several other restaurants in the Wyndham`s area that are worth visiting.

In addition to the restaurant down on the seafront (just below the apartment), there is a great restaurant (and a few smaller restaurants) in the urbanization of El Faro.

  • Meals are not to be consumed by the swimming pool
  • Loud music can be annoying to others and should be avoided
  • The swimming pool should not be used late at night or early in the morning. That being said, if you wish to use the pool outside of regular "opening hours," there is no objection as long as it is done quietly. Children should not play in the pool in the evening after the official closing time.
