Parking

In winter, it is not possible to drive all the way to the cabin. Instead, you will need to park at a shared parking area approximately 100 meters below the cabin (see picture). The road leading up to the cabin is not plowed, but there is a groomed trail to follow. Occasionally, it may be necessary to use skis to reach the cabin from the parking area, so it's important to consider this when packing for your trip. Outside of the winter season, you are permitted to drive up to the cabin for loading and unloading purposes, but please note that you must always park in the lower parking area.

We have two parking spaces in the common car park

User guide

  • A spade is also hung by the door. The spade should always be in place during the winter months. In snowy weather, the shovel is good to have if you have to remove snow in front of the door.
  • Entrance door on the back opens from the inside. If there is a fault with the main door, a key can be found in a key box with a code located next to the door. If you need the code, you can call 982 86 931 or 996 10 177
  • The clock on the stove must be readjusted if there has been a power cut. The stove does not work if the clock is not adjusted.
  • If the clock display flashes: Press clock and then + or – until the display shows the correct time. If one does not get rid of alarms, the cooker can be reset by switching off and on the 25 AMP in the fuse box at the entrance. The clock must then also be adjusted.

Heat:

  • The heat is controlled according to bookings. You don't have to think about anything here.
  • The system works like this:

When there are no people in the cabin, the temperature is adjusted down to 15 degrees.

About 12 hours/day before the cabin is to be used, set the heat to "Comfort". The heat in the cabin is water-borne heat.

  • The heat source is a 12 KW rock water pump and energy well. The heat pump also heats the hot water. The temperature control can be selected to Comfort or away. Comfort heating is normally set on the day before traveling to the cabin. With Comfort heating, there is a temperature controller in each room that controls the heat (in the attic, only the bathroom has water-borne heat). The temperature controls in the rooms have been adjusted according to experience. We therefore want them not to be adjusted. It also requires some training to adjust them.
  • The temperature controls in the rooms have been adjusted according to experience. We therefore want them not to be adjusted, also because it is easy to do wrong.

Fireplace in living room and kitchen:

  • Tip for good combustion with the least possible soot: Pull out the lower lever and have the adjustment lever furthest to the right / red mark)
  • Tips for cleaning fireplace glass (the fireplace must be cold):
    • Cover with paper under the fireplace door to prevent soot from falling onto the stones.
    • Clean glass with kitchen paper towel dipped in a little water and fireplace ash. The ash effectively dissolves soot on glass.
    • Finally, dry the glass with clean, moistened paper towels.

Sauna:

Remember to switch off after use.

It is very important to check and make sure that the sauna is off before the guest leaves the cabin.

On departure

  • Clean the fridge and stove.
  • Wash kitchen counters and tables.
  • Dishes in the dishwasher should be loaded before your departure
  • Make sure you have all your belongings and leave the cabin tidy.
  • Remember to close all windows or lock all doors.
  • The coffee machine must be switched off when the guests leave the cabin.
  • Waste is thrown into containers at (just above the crossing to Suleskarsveien) the mountain shop/Joker.
