Oslo picks up the pace

There has been a significant increase in the need for Omega’s services in the southeast region of Norway. Now, new Consultants Manager, Gunn Tollefsen, has joined the Management team in Oslo to assist in securing the right jobs for Omega candidates.

The number of employees in the Oslo region has increased steadily since Omega first established its Oslo office in 2007. In 2007, approximately 30 employees were connected to the Oslo office; today, Omega has more than 80 team members in the region. New Consultant Manager, Gunn Tollefsen believes this number will rise quickly.

“Omega is well established in the western regions of Norway, but still relatively new and unkown in the eastern part of the country. Omega has done a terrific job in establishing an office in this region, and, with the high number of requests for Omega consultants, the potential for growth is significant. Now, we need to really introduce Omega to the Oslo business region,” says Tollefsen.

Matching jobs and people

There has been a rapid increase in demand for Omega personnel since the launch of the Oslo office. There were 190 jobs based in the Oslo region published on jobs.omega.no in 2011, and so far this year more than 60 jobs have been published on Omega's popular job portal.

“Many Omega people find jobs on their own using our webpages, but one of the most important parts of my job as a Consultant Manager is finding career opportunities for our consultants and matching their skills with the jobs that would best suit them. This personal service is part of the package that differentiates Omega from its competitors,” Tollefsen says.

Today, Omega consultants in the Oslo region are on assignment with clients such as Statoil, ConocoPhillips, Aibel, Aker, Lundin, ABB and the National Rail Administration. Omega’s latest Consultant Manager believes in a larger Omega client portfolio in the time to come, and is prepared to speed up efforts to put forward more Omega candidates in an otherwise tough consultant market.

“Follow-up is everything”

“I am impressed by how Omega is run. The first thing I noticed about the company were the web pages, which clearly show how the company always puts its employees first. There are many experienced people in Omega, and I don’t feel like a senior just yet, but I hope I can contribute to the company's positive development through my network in the Oslo region”, Tollefsen says.

Since 1986, Tollefsen has been working in the consultant business of the oil and energy sector in Oslo, working for several years as a CEO.

“After 25 years in the industry you develop an extensive network, but times are good and people have jobs. Our challenge is to find the right opportunities and be one step ahead in offering these to consultants. Close follow up and long-lasting consultant relationships is our first priority in connecting people with Omega. Omega is a company that takes care of its people, and what I have experienced until now makes me excited about working here in the future,” Tollefsen says.
