The role encompasses project and client management, preparation of tender documents, cost estimations, and site supervision.

“We have an established team of consulting engineers. Due to our growing workload and staff changes, we're now looking for an experienced individual, ideally with a background as a senior engineer, to take on the role of technical lead in Haugalandet,” says Heggebø.

It would be preferable for the new candidate to have their office in Stord, Haugesund, or Ølensvåg.

Key project role

For six years, Gunnar Tveit has been a part of the consulting engineering team at the Haugesund office. Immediately after completing his studies, he chose to join Omega 365 Areal—a decision he has never regretted.

“It's an exciting job with a varied daily routine. There's always something new that comes up, and I have the opportunity to tackle various challenges,” he says.

As a consulting engineer in construction, there's a focus on the technical design of buildings and facilities, especially in crafting steel, concrete, and timber structures. The role also encompasses project and client management, preparation of tender documents, cost estimation, and site supervision.

“This is one of the most critical aspects in ensuring the successful completion of a project. We work closely with other disciplines in the project and are often involved early on. This makes it easier to find effective solutions that ensure the functionality of the building,” Tveit says.

Varied workday

“We work extensively on new constructions, renovation, and remodeling,” Gunnar Tveit explains.

Currently, his workdays often involve performing calculations, creating drawings and descriptions, and clarifying solutions with clients or technical disciplines, from the preliminary design phase to the tendering phase.

“I am also a trained carpenter, which gives me an additional understanding of how things will look in practice and how they will be constructed from a technical standpoint. Later on, I pursued an engineering education, which has provided me with valuable expertise to work as a consulting engineer in construction,” Tveit says.

“I really enjoy it here; it's a great environment, and you have the opportunity to develop professionally if you're passionate about a particular aspect of the field,” he adds.
