Omega Singapore secures new frame agreements

Omega Singapore has secured its largest frame agreement to date and is set to expand its consultant team to meet the demands of ConocoPhillips and Höegh LNG.

Following solid financial results in 2011, Omega Singapore is preparing for further growth this year as they employ rapidly in Asia. The Singapore office was recently awarded its largest frame agreement since Omega first established its branch office in Asia, and will provide consultant services to both ConocoPhillips and Höegh LNG in the years to come.

  • Omega Singapore was recently awarded frame agreements with ConocoPhillips and Höegh LNG Asia
  • The frame agreement with ConocoPhillips is Omega Singapore's largest agreement since the establishment of the office in 2006
  • Both frame agreements will require a large number of consultants accross several disciplines in the years to come
  • Today, twelve consultants and four System Engineers are connected to the Omega Singapore office

Two years with ConocoPhillips

ConocoPhillips, one of Omega Singapore’s long-term system clients, has now also chosen to take advantage of Omega Singapore's expanding, local consultant services. The terms of the newly-awarded frame agreement with ConocoPhillips is two years with another two-year option.

“The frame agreement includes the provision of consultants within most project disciplines. We cannot state the actual number of consultants that are involved in this agreement, but we can say that we will be needing a lot of new talent in the time ahead, both locally in Singapore and accross the region. The ConocoPhillips contract is probably the most extensive agreement we have entered into in Singapore,“ says President of Omega Singapore, Lasse Norevik.

The agreement includes consultant services for the Ekofisk 2/4 L project, the new housing and field-central platform for the Ekofisk field. ConocoPhillips are currently constructing parts of the platform at the SOME shipyard in Singapore.

Consultants in LNG shipping

Alongside the signing of the frame agreement with ConocoPhillips, Omega Singapore has also secured an agreement with Höegh LNG Asia. This is an open-ended agreement, which remains in effect until it is discontinued. The agreement also includes a large number of project disciplines.

“The agreement includes the delivery of consultants everywhere in Asia where Höegh has business. We will be needing both local and regional consultants, as well as 'expats' to meet the requests from Höegh on this contract,” Norevik says.

The Norwegian LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) shipping company Höegh established its subsidiary, Höegh LNG Pte. Ltd., in Singapore this March to focus on business in the Asian market. Höegh LNG currently has a fleet of seven LNG ships, as well as offices around the world.

Strong years for Omega in Singapore

The ConocoPhillips agreement is the largest for Omega Singapore since its establishment in Asia in 2006, providing the office with a solid basis for growth within consultant services and helping to secure Omega's foothold in the Asian Market.

President of Omega Singapore, Lasse Norevik, is looking forward to expanding his consultant team, following the two new frame agreements with ConocoPhillips and Höegh LNG Asia.

“Both the Höegh and ConocoPhillips contracts are significant agreements for us, giving us the opportunity to expand our consultant team in the coming years," says Norevik.

Today, twelve consultants and four system engineers are connected to the Omega office in Singapore. Omega clients in the region include Inpex Indonesia, Kongsberg Maritime, McDermott Brooke Shipyard and Bumi Armada. Singapore was also one of the Omega international offices that posted strong financial growth last year, with an increase in turnover from NOK 14 million in 2010, to NOK 20 million in 2011.
