International team spirit in Alf Audun’s Software department
Alf Audun Vetvik leads a small but geographically diverse software team with members based in Lithuania, Germany, Stavanger, and Oslo. Meeting face-to-face is especially important for building team spirit in a group that collaborates closely across borders, including with colleagues from Omega 365 in the United Kingdom.

This year, the team met in Hafjell, near Lillehammer, Norway, for a weekend together. The gathering brought colleagues from different locations closer and strengthened collaboration within the department, leaving the team with renewed energy for future projects.
“Microsoft Teams works well for our daily tasks, but it’s only when we meet face-to-face that the meaningful conversations and real connections happen,” says Alf Audun.
The first day was spent in Hafjell Bike Park, starting with a guided session before heading down the trails with lift-assisted biking. For one team member, it was their first trip outside Lithuania and their first experience of Norwegian nature, which made the weekend even more special.
On the second day, the group visited Lillehammer Olympic Park, where some tried the wheel bob, a bobsleigh on wheels that can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h. They also watched ski jumpers practicing on the dry slope.
Between activities, there was plenty of time to connect, both professionally and socially.
“Meeting like this gives us a chance to get to know each other better, and it’s a good opportunity for me to show how much I appreciate the team’s efforts and the great work they do,” says Alf Audun.
